Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 2026

Finding the right camp shouldn't require a law degree. Neither should understanding our privacy policy. The big takeaway is that your privacy matters to us. Genuinely — we're parents too and we get how important this stuff is. Here's the plain-English version of how we handle your data at RightCamp.

The Short Version

We collect some information to make the site work and to make your experience better. We don't sell it. We don't do sketchy things with it. We try really hard to keep it safe. Cool? Cool. Read on for the details.

What We Collect

When you create an account or use the site, we may collect things like your name, email address, and general location. If you tell us about your kids' ages, interests, or preferences, we use that just to make your search results more relevant.

We may also automatically collect some basic technical info like your IP address and browser type — the boring stuff every website collects just to keep the lights on.

What We Don't Collect (Unless You Tell Us)

We don't collect anything we don't need. We're not out here fishing for your life story. You can browse camps without giving us much of anything.

Cookies

Yes, we use cookies. No, not the delicious kind — the digital kind that help the site remember who you are between visits. They're not dangerous, they just make things more convenient. You can turn them off in your browser settings but some features might get grumpy if you do.

How We Use Your Info

  • To run the site and show you relevant camps.
  • To send you account-related emails (the useful kind, not spam).
  • To understand how people use RightCamp so we can make it better.

That's pretty much it.

Who We Share It With

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Full stop. We may share data with trusted third party services that help us run the site — like our database and hosting providers — but they're only allowed to use your data to provide those services to us, not for their own purposes. We may also have to share information if the law requires it, but we'll never hand over your data for fun or profit.

Keeping Your Data Safe

We use standard security practices like SSL encryption to protect your information. That said, no system on the internet is 100% hack-proof and we'd be lying if we said otherwise. We do our best, but please don't store your nuclear launch codes in your RightCamp profile just in case.

Your Right to Delete Your Data

Want us to delete your account and your data? Just ask. Email us and we'll take care of it. There are a few edge cases where we legally have to hold onto certain information, but we'll be upfront about that if it applies.

Email From Us

If you opt into emails, we'll send you relevant updates and announcements. Every email has an unsubscribe link and we will not guilt trip you for using it (but we might feel a little sad).

Kids Under 13

RightCamp is meant to be used by parents on behalf of their children. If you're under 13, please hand the device to a grown-up. If you provide information about children under 13 while using search, filters, or your profile, we treat that information with extra care. We use it only to personalize your experience on RightCamp and we do not share personally identifiable information about children under 13 with any third parties. Ever. If you're a parent with questions about how we handle your child's information, reach out — we're happy to talk through it.

Changes to This Policy

If we make significant changes to this policy we'll let you know via email or a notice on the site. Continuing to use RightCamp after that means you're good with the updates.
